• Modern cities with the glow of smog, and murky mines filled with dwarves - Arcanum has it all!  Don't miss your chance to sign up for the upcoming Arcanum Beta Test!  Arcanum is a new role-playing game being released by Sierra Studios and Troika Games.  So far it looks like a good mix of Diablo and Baldur's Gate.  Everyone who wishes to try for a beta test position are required to sign-up via a web form at http://sierrastudios.com/games/arcanum/.  While this form is currently not available, it shall be posted Tuesday, September 26th at 9:00 AM PT (16:00 GMT).

• Sudden Strike, the blockbuster war game hit in Germany is now set to be released in the US October 27th. The company who makes Sudden Strike is also working on a new impressive game called Cossaks - European Wars. You have to see the screenshots for this game.
• Baldurs Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and Midtown Madness 2 shipped yesterday.
• We erroneously reported Starship Troopers as being released on Tuesday, when in fact the game was pushed back to a ship date of October 23rd at the last minute.
• We keep our new release section up to date every couple of days at most. In the last couple days we have worked hard to find 35 new games listed in our release dates section. Games like Close Combat: Invasion of Normandy, Swat 3: Elite Edition, Delta Force Land Warrior, Command & Conquer: Renegade, Star Wars: Obi-Wan, and many more!

• Our hardware store link has temporarily disabled while we are upgrading it. The new store will have a much larger selection of hardware.
• Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn has been bumped up to start shipping Thursday.
• Help wanted! Our staff here at ComputerGamers.com has gotten smaller. We are no longer affiliated with the Guardians of Light gaming guild. Although our current staff are all current or former Guardians of Light members, that is no longer a requirement. So we are looking for eager gamers who want to help with the site, and be a part of a rapidly growing web site. Contact the Webmaster if your interested.

• Because of a contract change with Google, we are trying out Alta Vista as the new search engine on our site. As always your feedback is needed and wanted. We can always go back to Google, or try another search engine if you do not like it.
• Star Trek Voyager - Elite Force and  Roller Coaster Tycoon: Loopy Landscapes Expansion have both gone gold, and should be shipping soon.
• MTV Sports Skateboarding is now available.
• I would like to sincerely apologize to several of our customers. We have not been timely in posting the patches you have requested on our patch section. We have remedied that, and posted all of the requested patches as of this update. If a patch you requested is not listed, it is because it is not available. Again sorry for any inconvenience.
• Electronic Arts, and America Online need Beta testers for their new online games channel. Go to EA's webpage to sign up.
• Panzer General 3: Scorched Earth demo available. Get it here, 39 meg.
• Al Gore has said that video games, and violent media in general are causing all our recent problems with school violence and such. He has given "Hollywood" six months to act, or else. Since the ratings system is prevalent now among retail games, what does the government plan on doing? Some say that the next step is suing movie makers, and game companies like they did with Tobacco, and Gun Companies. Is it even possible that violent games could be banned? Are you as a gamer going to sit by while this happens? Whatever the action the government takes on our hobby you should register to vote, and make your presence known at the voting booth no matter what side of this debate you are on.
