- Last week I was all excited about
Squad Leader coming out! Do yourself a favor and DON'T buy it! I
am a huge fan of squad based games, and World War II games. That's
what this game is, and I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have to
play it. It was so annoying, and it's the first game in a long
time that I couldn't continue to play after a few hours. It is the
successor of Soldiers of War from several years ago. I actually
think the predecessor was better! Not to mention, the graphics,
and game play are just about as old! I will try to get a review
posted on it soon, but until then I just wanted to warn you!
- Unfortunately, Counterstrike was
pushed back another week to November 7th. Along with that Sea
Dogs, and Call to Power II are shipping a week after that. Since I
have all three on pre-order it's going to be a fun gaming month
for me! If you have not checked out Sea Dogs, I highly recommend
you read the Sea
Dogs site. I had not planned on getting the game until I read
their site. The game sounds like a lot of fun! It is a combination
of role-playing, strategy, adventure, war, a simulation and more!
- HELP! I have been turned into a
console gamer! I am very sorry about the lack of updates this past
week. After getting my new Playstation 2 last Thursday at 2 AM, I
have been addicted ever since! Madden 2001 is about a million
times better than the PC version. That is something that I have
not seen before, and I was very surprised by. Especially due to
the fact that it has franchise mode on the PS2. The only down side
is that the game does not have a fantasy draft like the PC version
does. I bought NHL 2001, and Kessen but ended up taking them back.
I then made the mistake of picking up Swing Away Golf. Now I am
addicted to two VERY fun sports games! I will try my best in the
future to keep console games off the site, just wanted to let you
know why there have been no updates. Also, some of you know that I
have been a police officer for the last seven years. Well as of
Monday I left the department on work related disability. So I am
now unemployed, and finding a job is taking up a lot of my time
too. I will also get the release dates section updated tonight,
and all the patches updated that people have requested this past
week.
- Besides being unemployed, and
addicted to my PlayStation 2 there is another reason I have not
been updating lately. I must admit that I am disheartened by the
readers of this site. I get very little feedback from anyone, even
when asked. I have over 800 people on my ICQ list. I sent 100
messages to those who I thought were good friends. Yet only one
person out of that whole group even bothered to register for the
message board, and post a message. So it leaves me wondering, if
my 'friends' won't even help support the site, it makes me wonder
if it's worth continuing. Due to the lack of feedback, sometime I
wonder if anyone is even reading the site. Are you? I get about
1500 hits per day on average. I get a bunch of patch requests, so
I know at least part of the site is being used. So now that I will
be looking for a new job, I am considering selling the site. The
site is costing me a good deal of money per month, and I am not
sure I can continue to maintain it with my current situation.
Besides the great job some of the reviewers are doing, I am not
getting any help with the site itself. So stay tuned, and
hopefully I will be getting things back on track, and I will not
have to close the site down. Also I am changing the site format to
a more personal level as you might have noticed. It was suggested
to me when I started that I not do that, but I now think that was
bad advice. So from now on the news will be posted by a certain
person, instead of not knowing who is posting it. For the most
part that means it will just be me. So if you want to help out, or
if you just want to give some feedback to prove that people read
this then feel free to drop me a line. Jared's
email!
- Jason's latest review is on Beach
Head 2000. Make sure you read the review
first, if you plan on buying it!
- I have added the Gamer's
Forum to the left side banner. So far it has gone mostly
unused. I would love to see people start posting to get it going
as a popular message board! The current forum is a freeware
version. I would like to eventually be able to purchase the full
version which costs about $200, and is very popular among guilds,
and gaming sites and has a lot more features. I need the forum to
be used a LOT more before that can happen though. ;)
