It's football season for Simcoach                              10/30/01 11:00 PM Eastern
  • Today was a big launch day for a lot of games! The coveted Civilization 3 shipped today. Needless to say after I pick up my copy tomorrow I may not be seen for a few days as I dig in. Majestic, FIFA 2002, Need for Speed: Motor City Online, and Myth III: The Wolf Age also shipped today.
  • SimCoach.com has just launched their football season. SimCoach is a web based sports simulation game that you play online against other players. I had a chance to play the baseball part of the game, and I enjoyed it. You get to play the coach/manager of a team and make all the decisions throughout the season. If you like fantasy sports, or your a die hard sports fan SimCoach is definitely worth checking out.

Donate to a good cause                                               10/09/01 10:30 PM Eastern
  • Before the recent terrorist attacks on America, the biggest fear people seemed to have was of the rash of shark attacks off the southeastern coastline. One victim of those attacks was Natalia Slobodskaya. Her fiance was killed, and she was seriously wounded by a shark. She has no medical insurance, and will be having VERY large bills after all of her extensive medical treatment. Her story was highlighted today in my local newspaper, the Virginian-Pilot, and yesterday in the Washington Post. A website has been started for her where you can donate money to help. The victims of the terrorist attacks have gotten millions in donations. Well here is someone else from another tragedy who needs your help. Click here to visit her web site and help.
  • Please welcome Sturmgrenadier, to our forums. They are a WWII Online squad, playing on the side of Germany. They are also the squad I play with in the game, and a great bunch of guys. Visit the SG website.
  • Last week we posted our latest review of No One Live Forever. Just in time for the recent release of the 'Game of the Year edition'. Click here to order the new game of the year edition!
  • There have been too many new releases to keep up with since my last post. Please check the updated release dates section for all the new releases. Ski Resort Tycoon 2, C & C: Yuri's RevengeZax: The Alien Hunter, and Patrician II all shipped this week.
  • If you haven't already heard, Simsville has been cancelled. They said the game wasn't coming out the way they wanted and so they cancelled it to focus on other Sims projects.
  • Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Since the terrorist attacks it has been hard to keep my mind on gaming. Now I am getting back into the groove, and gaming is once again a good distraction. We have still kept our Release dates, and patch section constantly updated. As always we look forward to becoming the best game site we can. If there is anything we can help with please e-mail us or post in our message board.

The saddest day                                                            09/11/01 10:30 PM Eastern
  • Today is truly a sad day in American history. As most of you know by now, cowardly terrorists attacked innocent civilians in the United States today. This is not just a tragedy for Americans but for all of humanity. I have literally been sitting here for hours looking for words to express my feelings. I do know that a tragic event such as this will not weaken our great country, but it will strengthen it! This is a time for all Americans, and the world to come together. I know it may seem like the world has gone crazy, but it hasn't. These cowardly acts were committed by a very small number of crazy people. The vast majority of the world is good, and let us not blame the majority for the acts of a few crazy individuals. Please remember the victims, and all of their loved ones in your prayers. God bless America, and God bless all of us.

Feel free to discuss this tragedy on our message boards

The Navy has arrived for World War II Online!        09/07/01 11:30 PM Eastern
  • It was planned as a surprise, but a beta tester released a screenshot of the first naval ship for World War II Online. The ship is currently in beta testing for the upcoming patch release. The ship will have 8 player positions for multi-crewing, and has several different weapons. Mo, the producer for the game was disappointed in the fact that their surprise was ruined but he officially announced the new addition. Mo, is also currently doing a radio interview on Rat Patrol Radio as I type this story. Despite this games problems, it's still the buggiest game I love to play!
