Kevin Federline Bashing @ AMAs

Last night, the American Music Awards gave the industry’s stars a chance to shine bright, and gave Britney Spears a chance to step back into the spotlight, sans Kevin Federline (K-Fed). What Britney wasn’t expecting at the AMA’s was a skit lampooning her ex-husband, Kevin Federline (K-Fed).
The American Music Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, consistently use skits add humor to the show, as well as their use to fill time. However, one such skit put on my AMA host Jimmy Kimmel seems to have ruffled a few of Britney Spears‘ feathers. It started off with Kimmel calling the fledgling rapper “the world’s first no-hit wonder”, then a Kevin Federline (K-Fed) lookalike was locked in a “soundproof box and was wheeled off-stage. The box was taken from the Shrine Auditorium, loaded onto a truck and abruptly thrown off the docks of San Pedro, California. As TMZ elaborates, Jimmy Kimmel promised that the skit would be Kevin Federline (K-Fed)’s “last time appearing on American television,” and after the faux K-Fed was dumped, Kimmel remarked that “a whole school of fish just got pregnant.”
Very shortly after the Kevin Federline (K-Fed) look-a-like was dumped into the harbor, Kimmel introduced the “Bachelorette Britney Spears” as a surprise presenter for the Best Soul/R&B Female Artist award. The stunning Spears took to the stage amidst a lengthy round of applause from the supportive members of the music industry. But, that doesn’t mean Britney was happy with the skit.
People magazine talked to a source familiar with the situation, who told the mag that “Britney was blindsided and upset.” The source elaborated by saying “Some people from (her Jive Records) label were with her, and they were pissed. They asked that it not be shown on the (West Coast) feed.” Despite the rumored protest, the skit was indeed broadcast on the West Coast.
Life & Style quoted their own source on the situation, who said that Britney Spears was furious about her estranged husband being the punchline of one of Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes. “She said she didn’t want to go out there.” The insider reported on the situation after the showe, claiming “Spears had words with someone from the show, then said she didn’t want her seats, and that no photo or image of her was to be used for any promotion or connection with the show - and then she left.”
The American Music Awards debacle comes on the same day that Kevin Federline (K-Fed)’s lawyers announced the allegations about a Britney Spears-Kevin Federline (K-Fed) sex tape are wholly untrue. Australia’s Herald Sun quoted Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federline’s divorce lawyer, as saying “There is not a sex video of Kevin and Britney in existence.” Kaplan continued “It goes without saying that the stories of Kevin attempting to sell such a video are patently false and anyone who reports that they have information of such attempts is either lying or reporting the lie of someone else.”
Sky Showbiz elaborated on the Kaplan statement, with Kaplan adding “It would be impossible to comment upon and correct all of the other misinformation about Kevin that appears on a daily basis. And consequently no attempt has been made, or will be made to do so.” As an example of the ridiculous headlines surrounding both Spears and Federline, the Himilayan Times has run an article entitled “Is Britney Spears a Bisexual?” Perhaps not everything reported is accurate, after all.
Britney Spears, one of the most popular female singers ever, has sold over 60 million albums throughout her career. She married Kevin Federline (K-Fed) in 2004, and the couple have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston Federline, and an infant son born Sept.12, beleived to be named Jayden James. No confirmation over Spears’ second baby’s name, which was once reported to be Sutton Pierce Federline.
