Make Math More Fun – Print & Play Workbooks!

Dear Friend,

Let’s face it, math can be fun but not all kids think it is. Kids are used to being entertained and expect everything that you want them to do, to be just as entertaining as their favorite pastimes.

What worked in the past, doesn’t necessarily work today. Many kids don’t want to learn math or practice math, they’d rather be watching DVD’s or playing with computer games.

Guitar Praise – PC Guitar Game Review

Guitar Praise – The Christian Rockband Review

Guitar Praise Game
Guitar Praise is the latest game from a small software developer called Digital Praise. It is basically a Christian version of popular music games like Guitar Hero and Rockband. Digital Praise is well known for a computer dance game called Dance Praise 2 as well as a host of other games including VeggieTales and Adventure in Odyssey based games. Digital Praise’s track record is very good so when they announced Guitar Praise, I was eager to see the final product. After all, faith based music is a thriving segment of the entertainment industry and it has been all but shunned by the makers of popular music games. Now saying all of that, ‘Christian’ games tend to not to live up to what they try to mimic for one reason or another.

D-Link Power Saving Routers

D-Link wants to do their part for the environment with a new range of Wi-Fi routers that are actually smart enough to help you save up to 40% in power usage – this is made possible as the routers are capable of detecting cable length as well as link status, adjusting power accordingly instead of running at full steam all the time as most of the other routers currently do. Heck, the routers can also be programmed to shut down the Wi-Fi radio when it is not in use so that power can be saved.

Microsoft Student Software Vouchers

Microsoft

Tennessee school systems will get vouchers for Microsoft software, about $16.40 for each student, from a settlement of an unlawful trade practices lawsuit against the technology company, state education officials said Monday.

The Tennessee Department of Education will distribute a total of $15.3 million in software vouchers to school systems.

The class action lawsuit contended that Microsoft Corp. used unlawful trade practices to maintain a monopoly and overcharge Tennessee consumers.

“We are pleased that the outcome will allow Tennessee school systems to upgrade technology for the benefit of their students and allow additional resources to be directed toward improving teaching and learning,” Education Commissioner Lana Seivers said.

Each school district will receive about $16.40 per student according to the districts average daily membership (ADM) at the end of the 2005-06 school year.

Laptop leads to Online Gambling Bust

Online Gambling Bust

NEW YORK (AP) – It was the high-tech key to a massive, illegal gambling kingdom: a laptop computer that authorities say was owned by a professional poker player named James Giordano.

Giordano, who rarely let the computer out of his sight, unknowingly took a gamble earlier this year by leaving it behind while attending a wedding ceremony, police said Wednesday.

But in the three hours he and his wife were away from their Long Island hotel room, New York Police Department investigators armed with a search warrant and computer expertise sneaked in, found the laptop on a desk and made a digital copy of the hard drive before the couple returned.

The covert operation on June 15 helped unlock a sophisticated billion-dollar-a-year gambling scheme that rivaled casino sports books, authorities said at a news conference announcing charges against Giordano and 26 other defendants.
