Hauppauge Digital has released a dual tuner single slot PC add-on card for Windows PCs. The new PCI video recorder card is called The Hauppauge WinTV Nova-t 500. It is currently priced at £99.99 inc VAT. The card is specially designed to integrate with the new Microsoft Windows Media Centre. The Hauppauge Nova-T 500 MCE provides outstanding picture quality with a Dual Digital TV Tuner for simultaneous recording of two TV channels at the same time. This new TV Tuner PC Card gives you the option of watching TV on one channel while recording on the second tuner, or if you wish you can record on both tuners! The Nova-T 500 also supports DVB-T Radio listening and both standard and high-definition video broadcasts. Included with the package comes its own TV viewing software, allowing any Windows XP user to watch /record TV and access a 7-day programme guide (EPG). Also included is a remote control.

The PlantSense steak looks like a regular garden steak, and it pretty much is, except for the sensors and USB port that is.

The sensors on the stake record data about your precious little houseplant. That data can then be transmitted to your computer through the USB port. Of course, there’s no point to having that data unless you have a way to view it, which is where the PlantSense website comes in. From there, you’ll be able to track your current plant’s stats along with a history of your plants that didn’t end up being so lucky.

The Rock band Keane is including a free USB flash drive with their latest single ‘Nothing In My Way’. They are including the free usb memory stick to allow fans to transfer the songs onto their computer and mobile mp3 devices. The flash drives feature Mp3s, videos of the band, and free Screensavers. Jon Turner the general manager of Keane’s record label Island explained that the band is trying out the free memory stick with the hope of developing it into a credible alternative to CDs by 2007. “I do see it as a potential format for the future,” he told The Guardian, “but I don’t think it’s going to run down the use of digital services. It’s an interesting experiment. I’m keen to see what people make of it.”

LG decided to inject some life into the LCD display arena with the new 1900R LCD monitor that features a unique black and red design which comes with a hole inside. The hole is not there for your pet hamster to jump through, but actually has a technological purpose instead. LG claims that “the red light will come on in a clockwise direction whenever you turn on the light”, whatever that means.

The automatic login hack allows you to automatically login to your EA Battlefield Account and the particular Battlefield Soldier you want to use each time you start the game. This is relatively straight forward to do, and again involves editing your BF-2142 command line options. To do this go to your Battlefield 2142 launch icon, right-click on the icon and select Properties. Then in the BF Target box put a single blank space after the last Battlefield 2142 character and insert +eaAccountName [Accountname] +eaAccountPassword [Password] +soldierName [soldiername].

Example: Suppose my EA Account name which I use to login to Battlefield 2142 is BF2142ACC, and the password for this account is 123456, and further that the soldier I use to play with online has the name KillJoy. This means I’d have to alter my command line to look something like this:

“C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe” +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024 +eaAccountName BF2142ACC +eaAccountPassword 123456 +soldierName KillJoy

A Microsoft employee released a statement earlier this week in regards to the new 100GB XBOX 360 Hard Drive rumor. Boris Schneider-Johne of Microsoft Germany denied all claims that Microsoft is working on a 100GB HDD for the XBOX-360. The picture that was released onto the internet is a poor photoshop of a PowerPoint slide that was taken at X06 in Korea. The photochop is dubbed to be “misleading” and “not reflective of an official announcement of any kind.”

Sony recently announced the official USA pricing scheme for the new Playstation 3 accessories. Included in the accessory pricing sheet is the Sixaxis controller, the PS2 to PS3 memory card adapter and the BD remote. The Sixaxis controller is priced at $49.99. The PS3 BD Remote Control is $24.99. If you want to use your Playstation-2 memory cards on the new Sony Playstation-3 you will need the memory card adapter for $14.99.
